The Governor of Guilan, in reference to the visit of high-level delegations from the five Caspian bordering countries and the presence of government ministers in Rasht, viewed the forum as a crucial opportunity to showcase the province’s economic, logistical, and investment capabilities. He stated, “The main focus of discussions will be on the development of ports, rail connections, and the Rasht-Astara project to strengthen the North-South Corridor.”

According to the Public Relations Office of the Guilan Governor’s office, Hadi Haghshenas spoke to Guilan Central Television Channel (IRIB Guilan Baran TV Channel) this morning (Tuesday) regarding the arrival of almost all foreign guests in Rasht the day before. He mentioned that the Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts had arrived in the province, and they were awaiting the Minister of Foreign Affairs to officially open the First Caspian Governors’ Forum.

Haghshenas explained that the forum would cover political, economic, and cultural aspects. He noted the presence of governors from some southern provinces, chambers of commerce, and managers of free zones at the event. He expressed optimism that the outcomes of this gathering would bring lasting benefits to Guilan and the neighboring countries in the Caspian Sea region.

The Governor of Guilan, stressing the significance of the conference in showcasing Guilan and Iran’s capabilities, mentioned that the province’s strengths would be highlighted in three specialized panels focusing on tourism, investment, and transportation. He highlighted that Iranian ports in the Caspian Sea had recently reached a loading capacity of over 30 million tons, and the rail connection between Caspian Port and Amirabad Port had opened up new logistics routes.

Haghshenas emphasized that the forum would provide an opportunity for officials from the participating countries to familiarize themselves with the corridor and tourism potential. He noted that one of the key projects to be introduced was the Rasht-Astara project, serving as a vital link to the North-South Corridor and contributing to regional trade development.

Discussing the planned agenda, he mentioned that two ministers and two governors from the five coastal countries would deliver speeches at the opening, followed by three specialized panels. The following day, the First Vice President and the Minister of Health were expected to arrive in Guilan to attend the closing ceremony.

The Governor of Guilan, underlining the event’s importance for the province’s future, outlined the overall program, which included an opening, a closing, and three specialized panels covering tourism, investment, logistics, and transportation. He expressed hope that the conference’s outcomes would lay the foundation for enhanced economic and maritime cooperation.
