According to the Public Relations Department of the Guilan Governor’s Office, Hadi Haghshenas, while welcoming national and foreign guests at the specialized panel meeting on “Economy, Investment and Regional Development” this afternoon (Tuesday), stated: “To all dear ones present at this meeting, esteemed governors, high-ranking representatives, experts and guests who have come from the Caspian Sea countries and inside the country, I proudly announce the beginning of the general meeting of The First Caspian Governors”
Emphasizing the importance of regional cooperation and integration, he added: “this meeting symbolizes the common will for sustainable development, environmental protection and promotion of economic, cultural and social cooperation in the Caspian Sea region. Today, in this sympathetic atmosphere, representatives of the coastal provinces from five friendly and neighboring countries of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Turkmenistan and Iran have attended to take an effective step towards the coexistence and prosperity of the region by exchanging experiences, examining challenges and drawing a common vision.”

The Governor of Guilan, referring to the importance of the presence of delegations from Iranian coastal provinces, including Mazandaran, Golestan, Hormozgan, and Sistan and Baluchestan, as well as representatives of the Caspian Sea countries, said: “Your presence indicates a common determination to strengthen logical ties and wisely exploit the capacities of the Caspian Sea, and it represents the convergence of the economic, social, and cultural interests of the region.”
Haghshenas added that the official platform will be awarded to the present delegations, based on the traditional practice of the five-party Caspian Sea meetings and the alphabetical order of the countries; then, the delegation of the Republic of Azerbaijan and representatives of Lankaran Province were invited to share their views and experiences in the field of regional development and investment.
According to him, this meeting is a unique opportunity to examine common economic capacities, exchange successful experiences, and identify new solutions for sustainable development and management of natural resources on the Caspian Sea coast. The role of the environment and culture of the region as key elements in sustainable development and joint cooperation is also given special attention.
The Governor of Guilan stressed the importance of international interactions and regional synergy, expressing hope that the meeting would lead to joint projects, increased regional investments, and enhanced solidarity among the Caspian bordering countries. He envisioned the meeting as a successful model of regional cooperation on an international scale.
